I’m hoping within the next month to get some good news that will officially take me out of the funk I’ve been working through for the past two months. If things turn out the way I hope they will, I plan on celebrating by buying myself something pretty. My first thoughts for said pretty purchase were an iPod (I still rock out to my Sony Discman at the gym. Is that vintage yet?) or a necklace by a local designer that I love, but apparently I went and ruined both The Rocket Scientist’s birthday and Christmas presents for me, so I had to think again. The next idea? Shoes!
During this particularly unbearable summer we’ve been having, I’ve lamented the fact that I only have one pair of properly fitting sandals (hear about my narrow feet blues here). So I hope I’m not jinxing the outcome, but if the happy news comes my way one of these pretties may just come to my door.
Because I have such narrow feet, I often think that a whole lotta shoe makes my feet look clunky. These strappy options are delicate enough looking to balance out my skinny heel and long alien toes.
I love the idea of owning a pair of navy shoes. The white accents are perfect for making these uber-versatile.
I rarely wear heels, but the look of the heels on this style make me feel a bit more confident that I’ll be able to remain upright.
These shoes remind me of the foot equivalent of my silver and gold hoop earrings – wear black and brown together on one part of your body, and you can wear black or brown anyplace else without getting too matchy-matchy.
Yes please.
The last pair is far too much for me to spend on sandals, but boy are they nice to look at.
So what pair(s) do you like? Any suggestions as to which you think will work best with my wardrobe?

I like the hush puppies. I think they would work with most outfits. I never find naturalizers comfortable. I think red sandals would be versatile, on the theory that red shoes don’t need to match what you’re wearing, and therefore go with everything. However, I think I’d blister from the ones shown here. I like either no back on a sandal, or a strap over the ankle to hold the whole thing on.
Screw the budget (bad advice but fun advice) and get the yellow ones… so cool, comfortable and unique!
I’m with Jentine. The yellow are fun. But the red might be more versatile. You should strive to be super tall! I think it’s the dream. (for me….)
The yellow are superfun. But I worry that they might be a little too tall for a lot of situations, and if I’m going to spend that kind of money I want them to be versatile. E.g. there are so many things at the museum I can’t do in shoes like that.
LOL, a discman?! C’mon Katie, get with the times! (I’m not very gadgety either, though– I swear by the iPod shuffle I picked up on ebay for $35.)
I really like the navy ones, and I think they’d go nicely with a lot of the items in your wardrobe. Plus, I love sandals that have a tiny bit of a heel that are still completely walkable.
BUT– the yellow ones ARE still less expensive than an iPod. just sayin! : )
Ha this is unhelpful but I like the last pair the best. I think yellow is surprisingly versatile. They are pretty expensive, I wonder if you could find them cheaper with a google search or something.
I love the navy and white ones, and I think they’d be really versatile. The yellow ones are pretty, but shoes that you don’t wear aren’t helpful (says the lady with pairs of shoes she rarely, if ever, wears).
