It partially feels like a cop-out since it’s so simple (dress, cardigan and boots), but internet, I done good with this outfit!
When I bought this dress to wear to a friend’s wedding, I thought it would also be a great day dress (doesn’t cling, doesn’t wrinkle, PATTERNED!), and I was right. I was going to originally pair the dress with a blazer, but the cut covered up too much of the top, and it’s such a pretty crossed v-neck.
I was trying to describe the pattern of the dress to a friend over the phone, and the closest I could get was, “Imagine a blue, grey, black, white and yellow Humpback whale bubble net.” Biology nerd, party of one.
I also think it’s funny that the day after I posted about how not using shampoo makes curly hair all curly-like, and I went and had a straight hair day. Oh well, the lack of shampoo definitely helps control it, but the mop still has a mind of its own.
And because it makes me laugh, I’ll now show you a photo of me trying to recover from almost falling over when the bird hiding in the hanging basket above my head decided to dive bomb me. I’m nothing if not graceful under pressure. And bird attack.

Looks great! I wonder where we get the idea that comfortable simplicity is a cop-out when it looks good? Sure, if the pieces were sweatpants, maybe that’s a cop-out, but this? Surely not!
Hee! I love the last photo. So cute! Same goes for the dress, except the cute part. It’s must more chic than cute. Lucky for that net it caught someone as pretty as you!
