Chelsie Daily Style – DIY Leather Earrings

I went pretty simple today, and dressed for warmth. My favorite wool dress pants, a dress shirt I rarely wear, and a purple tunic. It feels good to wear a new combination!

I also wore these earrings that I made last night. They are made with the leather interior of S’s old belt that was falling apart. I cut it in half, length-wise, and folded it into tiers, then drilled a hole through. S used a rivet gun to permanently press them together, and drilled a hole through so I could wire them up. These would be better showcased with an updo. I’m kind of itching to try making them with paper, but I don’t know how that would turn out. Or, origami earrings.

  1. I really like what you’re wearing – it looks both polished and cozy. I love your earrings, they are amazing! My favourite earrings (until I lost one!) were recycled hand-painted leather. I have yet to find a replacement!

  2. you lost me at “drilled a hole” :) very cute though….i love these!!

  4. Fabulous! And similar to what I was making you for Christmas, so now it’s back to the drawing board!

  5. Oooh. I like this idea in the leather, but with paper you could make so many more shapes!

  6. Holy crap those earrings are AWESOME.
