Not even one week in and I’ve already fallen behind in my 30 Days No Repeats Challenge postings. I’ll catch up, I promise, and I swear I have a good excuse. Would you believe me if I said it involved a duck-billed platypus, an inflatable Rudolph, a tub of thumbtacks and a box of chocolate truffles?
Sadly, nothing quite so exciting (as whatever the above scenario would entail. Bonus points if you make up that scenario in the comments). I did wear this outfit to (1) visit The Rocket Scientist, (2) try desperately to fit into a very cute yet too small blazer at Banana Republic (darn my ample figure!), (3) kick everyone’s butt at Taboo, (4) sing karaoke with a stranger (song here), (5) bribe my way into a club in a city I’ve never been to, and (6) sweet talk a taxi driver to take me back to an apartment I’d never been to when I didn’t have enough money for the cab ride – all within five hours! I think I’m getting too old for those types of adventures. My next adventure will involve a Snuggie, mint tea, and several Danny Kaye movies.
Can we count this braided thing as a scarf? Lovely, I agree! Scarf #5 it is!
P.S. I straightened my hair, for kicks and giggles. I timed the process, and that’s 26 more minutes I could have been sleeping. Other than that, though, all’s tickety boo.
30 Day No Repeats Challenge: Day 5

You found a duck-billed platypus attacking your inflatable Rudolph. This was distressing for a number of reasons, but mostly because the inflatable Rudolph lives on your balcony and has been a very reliable blog photographer. You tried to fend off the platypus by pelting him with thumbtacks which were conveniently located in a tub on your balcony, but you worried that the thumbtacks would pop poor Rudolph. Drastic times call for drastic measures. To save Rudolph, you offered the platypus a box of truffles that you were planning to enjoy this Tuesday evening. Satisfied, he ambled off into the sunset, with box of truffles tucked into his bill.
I am impressed by your scarf/necklace hybrid. What a great idea! Good tall karma today – I found a pair of skinny jeans in tall at the Gap Outlet.
Lucky you! I never find tall at the Outlet – which I went to last night, before the Banana Republic blazer frustration.
I love the scarf/necklace hybrid – a fantastic conversation piece as well as piece of fashion!
Oh gosh, the last comment I posted as my husband! Bwahaha, bad when I use his WP acct to update his site!
Anyway, I love the scarf/necklace combo – fabulous! And I can’t remember what else I wrote. Grr!
And there I thought we had another dude-fan! Oh well, maybe next time…
I should have married Danny Kaye when I had the chance.
Also, I should have had the chance.
ALSO, my first/last electric guitar was named Dhani Kaye, after George Harrison’s son and Danny Kaye. All that’s left of said guitar is its neck, which I use as a jewelry rack.
Oh, Danny Kaye…
I love everything about this comment.
I’m wanting instructions on the necklace/scarf thing. What’s is made of?
It’s upcycled out of thrifted tshirts. Super easy to do. Perhaps I’ll make a short tutorial…
Katie, thank you so much for the shout-out on “Already Pretty” – I do appreciate it!
I said “tickety-boo” to someone once and he had no idea what I was talking about! Love Danny Kaye.
You look fab in turquoise!
And you look fab in a long skirt, so the shout out was most justified.
I’ll believe you if you share the truffles…
