Tunes Tuesday

Last week my friend Rachel reminded me of the song “The Curse” by Josh Ritter. I got misty eyed the first time I heard the song and then when I saw the video? There was some blubbering. So here are some songs so pretty they make Katie tear up.*

Josh Ritter – “The Curse” (even if the lyrics and video are a completely inaccurate portrayal of museum life)

Ingrid Michaelson – “The Chain”

Joan Armatrading – “The Weakness in Me”

Nat King Cole – “But Beautiful”

*This isn’t hard to do. I’ve been known to get sniffly at the theme songs of shows I really like.

  1. Oh GAWD that Josh Ritter video is too much I tell you! I like it. Although I’m a little sad to hear that such things don’t actually occur in museums. I secretly really really like that silly movie night at the museum.
This one gets me every time:

  2. Aw geez I just meant to leave the link, not post a video! Sorry :S

  3. Oh dear God “The Chain.” The first time I heard it, I was driving home from work and found myself totally in tears. The song ended I and I blubbered “What the F(*$ was that?!” and played it again.
The other one (okay, there are like 50) that gets me is “City” by Sarah Bareilles. *sniffle*

  4. Ingrid Michaelson definitely tugs at something inside of me (sad words! happy tunes! adoring Heather!) and I love the music and video for the Curse, and can join the club of people who have teared up when hearing it. I’m glad you posted it, so that now I can listen to it and hopefully not tear up in public.

  5. Oh Man! Why you gotta make me cry? And right before I take outfit photos? Sweet mercy but do I love music!
Also the piano “Light & Day” is one of my very favourite songs…

  6. Yeah, you know I heart this post. Made my Tuesday start off right. :)
