I’ve been listening to a lot of Grace Potter and the Nocturnals lately. While there’s lots I love about the band, I especially like how something in their music reminds me of the alt-rock/grunge/lo-fi girls I listened to in high school. So here’s a trip down memory lane via Katie’s high school mix CDs.
Grace Potter and the Nocturnals – “Medicine”
Veruca Salt – “Seether”
Tracy Bonham and Blue Man Group – “Up on the Roof” (song starts around 0:50)
Letters to Cleo – “Here and Now”
And for some extra fun, here’s Nina Gordon (of Veruca Salt) singing “Straight Outta Compton” and Tracy Bonham singing “Crazy in Love” and “The Thong Song.”

OMG that Tracy Bonham Beyonce cover. Thank you for that.
I’ll have to check out the rest, because at this point I’m convinced I’ll like anything you like.
