As I left for work in this outfit, a very sleep Rocket Scientist looked at me and said,
The stripes and the yellow look really pretty together. But what’s that horrible growth coming out of your neck?*
The dude does not like lace, or “doilies,” as he calls them. Which is too bad for him, because if there’s one thing I love it’s a lace necklace. Observe:
Three lace necklaces isn’t too many, right?
And I spotted a spider on the wall, and got distracted (as usual), hence the title of this post.
Do you have any loves (style or otherwise) that others around you just don’t get?
Be sure to check out everyone’s lace concoctions over at Everybody, Everywear?
*To which I responded “it’s not a too-maaah.” Of course.

lol. The Rocket Scientist doesn’t know what he’s missing. Lace necklaces are fabulous. I love this one with the sunny yellow and the fab stripes.
Hi Spider!
I think Joe and TRS would be buddies. There are many accessories (or, to be honest, entire clothing items) that he totally doesn’t see the need for.
I just love this outfit, though. Bright yellow and the striped shirt are so fantastic!
I think they would, too. Too bad they didn’t get more time to hang out.
This made me smile–rocket scientist is right. The yellow/mustard does look great with the stripes. The outfit I posted for EBEW is a skirt I bought in order to take the applique OFF of it in order to make a necklace like yours.
But it looks so pretty as a skirt – that’s a hard call to make!
You are rocking the lace necklace like nobody’s business. BH looks confused whenever I wear something with an empire waist. He says things like “… maybe you need a belt?”
Hah! The Rocket Scientist is always saying, “Why do you need a belt? It’s not holding anything up!”
A. says that too! Usually in a tone of confusion.
Early morning compliments are the best! And you look lovely in the yellow and blue and stripes… Even when peering at a spider. I like spiders because they know a lot about architecture and they eat mosquitos (am I right about the mosquitos thing? I hope so!)
They do eat mosquitoes! In fact, I once lived in a house with a lovely girl who refused to kill any spiders we found because they did just that. My argument that living in a house largely void of mosquitoes to begin with left the spiders with little to do other than terrorize me in the shower didn’t go over so well.
hehehh!i get more or less the same reaction whenever I try to layer… all my lab friends ask what is the use of it and why dont you just wear a coat if you are cold!
i love the necklace though!did you make it yourself?
Very cute outfit! Love the lace necklace!
Interesting post. I hope you check out my blog.
