Tunes Tuesday – America Style

If there’s one thing I know from growing up on military bases, it’s patriotic music. And since most of what gets played is rubbish (Lee Greenwood, you know what you did) and most of you probably heard too much of it this weekend (Lee Greenwood, looking at you again), here are some variations on the themes of patriotism, protest, and peace.

P.S. Remind me to tell you about the time I suggested to a base commander that they play “La Marseillaise” during the fireworks as a nod to France’s role in American independence, and how I wasn’t invited back to that house.

  1. I didn’t get a chance to watch your videos because I am at work. But I wanted to say that your ‘La Marseillaise’ comment made me lol.
(I agree about that Lee Greenwood song. It’s like Christmas music, by the 4th I am ready to unplug everyone’s sound systems.)
