I’m in love with La Sera and White Sea at the moment. And I put a song by a boy in this list! I need suggestions for boy singers that aren’t Nickelback.
And since it’s Tuesday, who out there remembers The Tuesdays? Their songs included lyrics about things like toothbrushes!

Male singers I like: the Lucksmiths, Iron & Wine, Antony & the Johnsons, Rufus Wainwright, Teddy Thompson.
I love Rufus Wainwright. Actually, the whole Wainwright family.
I love Martha Wainwright’s voice. That is one talented family.
Sean Hayes. Ben Harper.
The Flashing Lights! (Admittedly I’m still on a bit of a kick with them.) There’s a really pretty song by a guy named Donovan Woods called “My Cousin has Grey Cup Ring” which I think you’d like. Hey Rosetta! is really good too — more rock-y than folk-y, but pretty nifty. Two Hours Traffic? Destroyer? (Though they’re more of a love ‘em or hate ‘em group.) Hawksley Workman?
…. I totally just went through my Radio 3 playlist for ideas.
Ugh, no Hawksley Workman. I’ll try the others, though.
Some of his older stuff is really nice, but other times it’s like “….seriously?” And admittedly there’s a bit of nostalgic value to him for me too.
I like him more as a producer than an artist, but he’s no favorite.
I don’t know about “boy,” but some male musicians I like: Sufjan Stevens (although he can get a little wibbly-twee for my tastes, “Casimir Pulaski Day” slays me), Ben Folds, Jason Webley. Of course, I’m saying this without listening to any of the music right this moment since I’m at work, but whatever. I’d recommend Jason Webley to just about anybody.
Awesome tunes!
My favourite singer is Corey Taylor from Stone Sour and Slipknot. His voice is absolutely PHENOMENAL! (He’s the only singer I can think of who can successfully move from singing metal to country to pop and back, and make it all sound so beautiful!)
