Millie at Persephone: Silicone Pasties

I forgot to mention this on the blog yesterday (though I did on The Twitter — are you following us yet? You should be! We’re just as charming there as we are here and sometimes I get bored at school and tweet all afternoon), but I wrote up a review of a pair of silicone pasties I got for bosom smoothing purposes. Curious? Understandably so!

  1. Bosom smoothing needs! I’ve been thinking about pasties lately, because I have small enough breasts that I could ostensibly go ’round braless a lot more often if my nipples were a bit more demure. Thank you for your relentless testing, Millie–I may have to spring for these, although at $15 a pair I may have to limit myself to once-in-a-while bralessness rather than every day.

    • I’m pretty sure the life time can be extended — I was trying to follow the directions on the box to get an idea of the parameters. I found another brand that was sticky and claimed to have a lifespan of 100 wears, but it was the exorbitant-to-ship-to-Canada brand, so I can’t weigh in on them. Glad to be of assistance, though!

  2. Neato!

What if you saved your old pair for use under a bra, and had a second pair that you used for braless days to extend the life of the adhesive?

Also, I know they used to make liquid “fashion glue” for gluing straps in place and such; maybe it would work in the pasties?

The Dollar Tree often sells nipple stickers; they look like large, round band-aids, basically, but I have a friend who says they’re great. Two pair to a box. Not as reusable as the silicone kind, I’m sure.

    • That’s my tentative plan, assuming I can get another pair (the pair I got was the last one on the shelf). I thought about the fashion glue thing too, and I may give that a whirl when the adhesive conks out — if I go that route, I’ll do a follow-up post on how it went.
