Slowly starting a new chair reupholstery job. Right now it has been stripped clean and the legs are being sanded.

The fabric will be navy and white stripes and it will be a first foray into tufting.

You are brave to tackle a project like that, it will turn out beautiful I’m sure!
ooh nice! I love reupholstering furniture! Hubby and I have a half done couch in our garage right now! Can’t wait to see how your chair turns out!

I will have to keep an eye out to see how yours turns out as well!
I actually just bought a very similar chair, just different leg shapes. This will be my first reupholstering project. Do you have any advice about working with this style or pointers in general?
So far I would say buy more material than you think necessary. Take you time. And take a lot of pictures as you take it apart. Note how they have made folds and upholstered it together previously as a reference for when you are putting it back together. It can’t hurt to hit up your local library for an upholstery book either. And keep the fabric you take off so you know what shapes to cut out. Always give yourself a little extra fabric for wiggle room. Get a good staple gun! Use a punch (tool) to get your upholstery nails in. Learn to sew your own piping.
Didn’t think I would come up with so many tips!
Thanks! I’ve been watching a million tutorials for reupholstering occasional chairs, and I think if do take my time I’ll be fine. Thank you for all of the tips!!!
